Testing is what turns “the water is probably fine” into a document that proves it. Gotech samples on site and analyses in the laboratory: drinking water, pool water, cooling water and Legionella. You get a formal, dated report suitable for a compliance file or a tender submission — which matters, because in a dispute the report is the evidence, not your recollection.
You cannot see Legionella. You cannot see most of what makes water safe or unsafe. Every meaningful judgement about a water system is made from a measurement, which means the quality of the measurement is the quality of the judgement.
It also means how the sample is taken matters as much as what the laboratory does with it. A sample drawn from the wrong point, at the wrong time, or handled badly on the way to the lab produces a number that is precisely wrong — and a precisely wrong number is more dangerous than no number, because people act on it.

Testing is the cheapest line item on this site and the one that makes every other line defensible. Without it you are running a programme on faith and you have nothing to show a regulator, a tender panel or a lawyer. With it, you have a dated evidence trail. The asymmetry is stark: the test costs a little, and not having it costs you the argument.
It depends on the test — Legionella requires a culture period, so it is not an instant answer. We will tell you the turnaround when we agree the scope, and if a situation is urgent we will say so rather than let you wait on a result that will arrive too late to matter.
