Algaecide is used alongside an appropriate sanitiser and filtration programme. Quat and polymer products can differ in foaming and application requirements. Describe water features, jets and aeration so those characteristics can be checked for the quoted formulation.
An already-green pool needs diagnosis
Algaecide alone should not be treated as proof that green water is safe for bathers. Review water tests, sanitation, circulation and filtration with the responsible operator. The treatment sequence and reopening decision depend on the condition and the supplied products.
Application and compatibility
Confirm the product label before combining an algaecide programme with existing chemicals. More concentrate is not automatically more effective. Pool volume, current products and the maintenance schedule help define the quotation and the instructions that must accompany supply.
Questions before buying
Do I need a low-foaming product?
Tell us whether the pool has jets, water features or other aeration. Foaming characteristics vary by formulation and need to be confirmed for the product quoted; the family name alone is not enough.
Will algaecide alone clear a green pool?
Do not rely on algaecide alone. Green water requires assessment of sanitation, water chemistry and filtration. It is not safe to infer reopening from the colour changing or from purchasing a product.
Which pack should I request?
Pack sizes and formulations are confirmed by quotation. State the pool volume, purpose and usual consumption; if quantity is unknown, leave it open and describe the need.
Can it replace routine chlorine and testing?
No. An algaecide does not replace the pool’s required sanitising, circulation, filtration and testing procedures. Follow the supplied label and the operator’s treatment programme.
